So everything leading up to vacation was going absolutely perfectly - I got something really important finished the day before at work, all the cats were in perfect health and no horrendous weather problems cropped up. We breathed an easy sign of relief after we got through security, grabbed some Starbucks and settled into a couple of chairs at the appointed gate. About 5 minutes in, I looked at the flight board and instead of saying LAX at 6:32 a.m., and was confused to see it said Toronto at 6:28 a.m. Apparently, without any notice, our flight was cancelled - thank goodness we looked!! As fortune would have it though we ended up getting on a flight to Denver then another to Santa Barbara which arrived an hour ahead of our original plans!! Woo!! However, when we arrived in Santa Barbara we were compelled to hang out - and I say this with a grain of salt because being forced to hang out in Santa Barbara is hardly punishment - until our bags arrived 4 hours later. After satiating our burning need for Cucas we puttered around up at the Mission and then had a leisurely drive to Dad's place. Here are the first pictures of the trip...
(Editorial Note: I was having extreme problems with the blog host screwing up how things are posted on here so if it looks all over the place it is Google's fault for screwing up something that previously worked fine)
Leah, doesn't this look a little like Brad??
This is one of my favorites...the sky and lillies remind me of a Monet.
Bet you are wondering how I got on the roof to shoot this...ha, love my 200mm!!
This is a field near Dad & Poline's place, it looked so awesome in the late afternoon light! (BTW, I can't get it to not be blue and underlined)
This cracked me up...they post a "No Trespassing" sign on a nearly flat empty lot...okay, why?
