Boo Hoo, our last day in Yosemite. Having gone mad dog with all the hiking we decided to take it a little easy and went for a lovely walk in the woods to reach McGurk Meadow. Again I was hoping to see a lot of wildflowers, but figured after Tuolumne that there probably weren't any and I was right. Still, it was really really nice out and, after negotiating some fallen trees, patches of snow and a slightly steep descent, we wended our way to the meadow.
We hiked there for a couple of hours then decided to go into the valley and hike around Bridal Veil Falls - again, if you ever go, bring a raincoat!! Strategically this proved to be a smart move because if we ventured further into the valley we'd still be there stuck in traffic trying to turn around and come back.

Ok, as we were walking up to the falls I started having this obsession with the water run off the the falls and was climbing all over the rocks to get water shots. The lighting was a little high so they are pretty contrasty and I didn't have my tripod (duh) so...

I loved how the mist was swirling in a watery pompador over the crest of the falls.

I just love moss!!

You could see little trout swimming around in here (though not in this picture).

Ok, I lied, there were flowers, like these shooting stars, but there weren't many.

When we came back on this trail on the way back we discovered some fresh fox scat...I was really bummed I didn't see the fox, I have always wanted to see one.

This was some oddly short cabin here in the middle of this trail, maybe an old trappers crib?! I actually ended up taking a tinkle near it after we sat down for some snacks. We were actually sitting on a log behind where I was standing an a young buck almost walked right up to us before he realized what we were and bolted into the woods.

See what I mean about odd sized?! A little drafty looking too!

My patient Johnny indulging my obsession with shooting flowing water. Thanks baby :)*
