On our last full day in Santa Barbara we decided to visit the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens. I knew the overcast lighting would be perfect for shooting flowers. When we arrived, I pretty much stayed in the one area near the front only because I became so engrossed in shooting what was there time got away from me!! All of these shots were done with a 60mm macro lens, one of my favorite pieces of kit.
I have always loved these little Hairstreak Butterflies and was amused to see this poor little guy hanging upside down on this dead flower covered in dew. I had always wondered what these things did and where they went at night and now I know!
