Chinese New Year Parade

I recently joined a Meet Up group and the most recent meeting was at the Chinese New Year parade in Chinatown in Chicago yesterday afternoon. Here are some of the pictures I took.
This is my favorite one - I love how the colored fringe of the costume is swirling around and how his face is suttlely revealed underneath the mask.

You have to love the colorful costumes and masks.

Notice the Charlie Brown on the scroll he is carrying. Maybe it's the year of Peanuts?

THese dragons were really cool!

I was absolutely intrigued by the beautiful faces of the elderly people I saw.

I loved this guy's face, but he was moving around too much and I didn't have the camera set right to sharpen the image.

I thought it was really weird that they had bagpipers at a Chinese New Year parade .

I also really liked the faces of the kids that were there.
They were adorable and fascinating.

While this kid was marching next to the bagpiper he kept looking down at his feet like he was trying to get in step, it was really cute.

This little boy was great, he was dancing around in the street in his own little world.

The same little boy.

This little girl was so small and absolutely adorable.

This little girl kept trying not to watch me, but was irresistably fascinated.
